HyStarter, Phases I & II

Together with stakeholders from 24 municipalities and regions in Germany, SPILETT has developed concepts of an integrated local energy and transport transition with the aim of identifying and tapping the potential of hydrogen and fuel cell technology to accelerate regional activities.

Project Description:
The HyStarter project was funded by the German government as part of the HyLand program with funds from the Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology Innovation Program (NIP 2.0) under the leadership of the German Federal Ministry of Transport during the project period May 2019 – October 2021 (Phase I) and July 2021-July 2023 (Phase II). Together with stakeholders from a total of 24 municipalities or regions in Germany, concepts for an integrated local energy and transportation transition were developed that identify and tap the potential of hydrogen and fuel cell technology to accelerate regional activities. The concepts are also intended to serve as a blueprint to inspire other regions.

Services provided in the project:
Organization and implementation of regional strategy dialogues as well as development of regional action concepts in 9 of the 24 regions, support of 15 regions in scenario development based on energy system modeling, network management, knowledge preparation, illustrations, project management in phase I.
